Magic, Marrakech & Jnane Tamsna

The Easter holidays are over and the kids are back at school, so I am finally finding some peace and calm to be able to sit down and write about fabulous Marrakech. I have never been before and didn't know really what to expect.  After a short 3 hour 10 minute flight from London, picked up promptly by a driver and immediately finding ourselves driving around the ancient walls of the Medinah, I knew immediately I was going to love it. There is a hint of magic about this city, whether it is from the snake charmers in the souk or the Berbers in their mysterious dress, it is intoxicating. However, this might also be down to the fabulous place we...

A perfect weekend retreat for skiing

I am a big advocate of a weekend away and have been lucky enough to just return from a very fun one with a fabulous group of girls. While www.honorbeach.com is predominately for warmer weather and climates, it can still be adapted for a winter ski weekend.  Well sort of and really if there is a spa attached,  but I digress... Often the problem with a ski weekend is finding somewhere that will let you stay for less than a week. So I thoroughly recommend the hotel I have just been to in Megeve, France called Hotel Alpaga (www.alpaga.com). Only around an hour from Geneva, it is easily accessible for the weekend, if you are based in Europe. Sometimes on entering a...

Set sail with Honor Beach

While re-reading my last couple of blogs, I have noticed that cocktails seem to be a recurrent theme. So I thought I would try and avoid alcohol in this one and think about more practical holiday issues such as what to do, where to go and what to pack. When my husband and I were dating, our holidays all seemed to be about sailing. He was very keen and I was very keen on him!  We did visit some stunning places, with our first proper holiday being the British Virgin Islands.  From Jost Van Dyke, to rum punch (sorry, I wasn't going to mention that but they were delicious) at Willy T's -  the whole trip was amazing. I can thoroughly recommend it for...

The sun always seems to shine in Honor Beach world!

As sun and summer seems to be at the forefront of my mind these days, the time may be coming for Honor Beach to have a launch party to help bring on the silly season. As I am based in London and currently only dreaming of sunshine, the plan is to conjure up a holiday feel. To me this means Brazilian music, mojito's, dancing and lots of laughing. Although recently I was introduced to a delicious cocktail which I think works in summer or winter, because it is just so good and simple to make - the homemade Lychee Martini. So I am going to pass on my friend - Mrs C's - super easy recipe which tastes divine. (She...

A week has gone by....

Time has flown since Honor Beach launched online. It was so exciting to see the first order coming through the website, followed by lots more! Just fantastic, I want to thank everyone for their support. Sadly, the weather in the UK at the moment is not particularly conducive to thinking about summer and beachwear. This got me dreaming about my holiday plans and one trip in particular. We are returning to Paxos for the third year and cannot wait. I also have a little secret to share - Glyfada Beach Villas.  I discovered this gem of a resort (well cluster of little houses) a couple of years ago while walking along Monodendri Beach. It is run by a charming husband and wife...
