A perfect weekend retreat for skiing

I am a big advocate of a weekend away and have been lucky enough to just return from a very fun one with a fabulous group of girls.

While www.honorbeach.com is predominately for warmer weather and climates, it can still be adapted for a winter ski weekend.  Well sort of and really if there is a spa attached,  but I digress...

Often the problem with a ski weekend is finding somewhere that will let you stay for less than a week. So I thoroughly recommend the hotel I have just been to in Megeve, France called Hotel Alpaga (www.alpaga.com). Only around an hour from Geneva, it is easily accessible for the weekend, if you are based in Europe.

Sometimes on entering a hotel you just know you are going to love it and this is one of those places. The decor is all bleached wood and modern lighting but with enough soft chairs, cushions and beautiful pictures to make it feel warm and inviting.

The hotel has a mix of rooms, apartments and chalets that you can book. There is a gorgeous wooden hot tub outside where you can watch the sun go down along with the most adorable stand alone sauna.

Plus in the main building there is a stunning spa with a hydro pool, hammam and relaxing room. Perhaps you could slip on an Honor Beach Trellis Kaftan while you sit by the pool! All in all it is a perfect way to unwind after all the skiing or if you are like we were, too much dancing on tables at La Folie Douce - which has recently opened an outpost on the slopes above Megeve. Expect the usual fabulous mix of cabaret and jazz before gearing up to dance music but with added Megeve chic.

The hotel is a short walk from the centre of the village, but if you don't want to walk, the hotel provides a very efficient shuttle service which you can call upon. The village has an old school, upmarket charm about it and is very pretty to walk around.

Megeve also has a wonderful mix of restaurants, bars and Le Jazz Club to go to, but I will leave recommendations to the informative Alpaga concierge to give you once you book!

A bientot
